ASSOC. PASTOR OF STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Jonathan was born in a small town in northern Kentucky called Maysville to a family where both parents honored the Lord and so raised their children to do the same. As his hometown pastor told him about the love of Christ in the pastor’s office on a regular Sunday morning, Jonathan accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at 11 years old. Four years later, he surrendered the call to youth ministry under the leadership of his own youth pastor who made a great impact for Christ in Jonathan’s life.
After high school, Jonathan attended community college for two years, while staying very active at May’s Lick Baptist Church. The Lord then led him to move to Virginia to attend Liberty University for a degree in Religion: Youth Ministry Studies. During his years at Liberty, he served as a campus prayer leader, a spiritual life director for his peers as well as an active AWANA leader for Leesville Road Baptist Church. He received his bachelor’s degree in 2012, and in the same year began at Liberty University Theological Seminary for a Master’s of Arts in Pastoral Counseling which he completed in 2014. During this time in seminary, Jonathan married his then fiance, Bethany, and began his career as a youth pastor on staff at Kedron Baptist Church in Gladys, VA.
In April 2014 the Lord called Jonathan to Newfound Baptist Church. Since coming to Newfound Jonathan and Bethany have been blessed to meet and work with such wonderful and giving people. Jonathan looks forward to getting to know more students in the Leicester community and working together with their families to bring honor and glory to the ONLY ONE who is worthy, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
